Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?
When Teen Geek was little (6-ish) he had no interest in books over about 12 pages long. I really wanted him to get into longer books and stretch his reading muscles, so I brought home Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. We were both immediately hooked and spent the next several years eagerly awaiting new installments. When he was 10, I fed him (and his BFF) full of sugar and waited 7 hours for a midnight release. One year I didn’t pre-order and got turned away from our regular midnight release site, so I drove across town and begged at another bookstore…thankfully, they let us in and we got our book!
My follow up question is: Was it worth it?

That is awesome. But I have never done anything that ‘crazy’…however, Harry Potter is ALWAYS worth it!

What is up with the whole midnight release thing? Do you have to like make a reservation or something? I’m so confused.

My FF Post
Some of the bigger midnight releases in our area have started requiring a reservation and deposit. You *may* still get in the party and *may* still get a copy of the book, but there is no guarantee.
I think the HP midnight releases just started getting so huge and elaborate, they had to put the brakes on before it all ended in a fiery crash!
